Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • Salt, for boiling water
  • Ice water, for blanching

Notes

Blanched green beans can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Instructions

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    Add green beans and cook for 2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

    Immediately transfer beans to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking.

    Once cooled, drain and pat dry.

    Serve as is or sauté with garlic and olive oil for added flavor.
